Luca Belli, Ph.D.
I wear many hats: I am the founder of Sator Labs, a UC Berkeley Tech Policy Fellow, and a Visiting AI Fellow at NIST. With the latter I am working on Generative AI, as part of the Generative AI Public Working Group.
Before that, I was at Twitter where I co-founded and was the research lead for the Machine Learning Ethics Transparency and Accountability (META) team.
My research interests lie at the intersection of recsys, feedback loops, algorithmic amplification, and algorithmic audits.
My background is in pure math, with a Ph.D. in complex geometry from the University Tor Vergata in Rome.
